Inspired by Family, Driven by Service: Teri Lynn Dunn and Tamara Ishee Launch Special Strong West Houston
Houston, TX – May 10, 2023 – Special Strong proudly announces the opening of Special Strong West Houston, led by franchise owners Teri Lynn Dunn and Tamara Ishee. With decades of combined experience and a deeply personal connection to the special needs community, Dunn and Ishee are committed to bringing adaptive fitness to individuals with mental, physical, and cognitive challenges across West Houston.
Dunn, a retired special education teacher of 34 years, is also a certified personal trainer and Special Strong trainer. She continues to give back by coaching the Katy Wolf Pack Special Olympics girls’ basketball team. Ishee, a management professional with certifications as a personal trainer and Special Strong trainer, brings strong leadership skills and a passion for empowering others. Together, they share not only professional expertise but also a powerful source of inspiration—their daughter, Abby, who has Down syndrome and serves as the heart of their mission.
