Family First: Wess and Reshae McDonald Launch Special Strong Northeast Texas

Grand Saline, TX โ€“ May 1, 2024 โ€“ Special Strong is proud to announce the launch of its newest franchise in Northeast Texas, led by husband-and-wife team Robert Wess and Reshae Leigh McDonald. Inspired by their youngest son, Ty, the McDonalds are committed to expanding access to adaptive and inclusive fitness programs for individuals with mental, physical, and cognitive challenges.

The couple first learned about Special Strong through friends in the Down Syndrome Association of Houston and immediately recognized the life-changing opportunities it could provideโ€”not just for Ty, but for families throughout the region. With no nearby locations available, they felt called to bring Special Strong to Northeast Texas.

โ€œSpecial Strong is more than a programโ€”itโ€™s a calling for us,โ€ said Reshae. โ€œWe wanted to create opportunities not just for our son, but for every individual who deserves the chance to build confidence, strength, and independence.โ€

Special Strong founder and CEO Daniel Stein praised the McDonaldsโ€™ commitment. โ€œWess and Reshae embody the heart of Special Strong,โ€ Stein shared. โ€œTheir decision to bring our mission to Northeast Texas reflects their dedication to faith, family, and community. We are excited to see the impact they will create.โ€

In addition to their work with Special Strong, the McDonalds enjoy a vibrant family life with their five children, three sons-in-law, four grandchildren, and their Bed & Breakfast/Retreat Center in Van Zandt County. Their vision for Special Strong Northeast Texas is to leave a legacy of inclusion, empowerment, and community impact that extends far beyond their own family.

Special Strong Northeast Texas will serve individuals with a wide range of challenges, including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Williams syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, genetic anomalies, amputations, and stroke recovery. Through compassionate and nationally certified trainers, the McDonalds are committed to helping each client reach their fullest potential.
