Faith, Family, and Fitness: Tracy and Matt Furrey Launch Special Strong Folsom
Folsom, CA – October 1, 2024 – Special Strong is proud to announce the launch of its newest franchise in Northern California, led by husband-and-wife team Tracy and Matt Furrey. As the new owners of Special Strong Folsom, the Furreys bring a unique blend of professional experience, passion for fitness, and a deep commitment to serving the special needs community.
Tracy began her career as a recreational therapist, where she developed a lifelong passion for supporting individuals with special needs. While raising their three children, she found success in the direct selling industry, building leadership and business skills that she now brings to Special Strong. Matt, a former Ohio State University baseball player and lifelong fitness enthusiast, has built his career in sales while maintaining an active lifestyle. Married for 27 years, the couple lives in Folsom, CA, and enjoys traveling, sports, paddleboarding, and staying active together.
“Special Strong felt like a God-given opportunity for us,” said Tracy. “It allows us to combine our love for health and fitness with our passion for serving others, especially those with special needs. We want to create a space where individuals, families, and communities can grow stronger together.”

Through Special Strong Folsom, the Furreys plan to combine Tracy’s background in recreational therapy with Matt’s business and fitness experience to offer inclusive and adaptive fitness programs. Their vision is to serve not only clients with special needs but also caregivers, trainers, and gym owners—empowering the entire community to live more abundant and fulfilling lives.
