Healthcare Meets the Classroom as the Coopers Launch Special Strong Mobile Bay

A healthcare leader and a Master’s-level educator unite their professional expertise and family experience to serve the adaptive needs community

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MOBILE BAY, AL — Special Strong, a leading Adaptive Fitness franchise dedicated to serving individuals with mental, physical, and cognitive challenges, today announced the launch of Special Strong Mobile Bay under franchise owners Jacob and Robyn Cooper.

Jacob Cooper brings years of healthcare leadership, community outreach, and team development experience to Special Strong. Currently completing his MBA, he has built his career around developing relationships, serving his community, and helping others reach their potential. Robyn Cooper holds a Master’s degree in Education and has spent the past seven years teaching elementary school, developing a reputation for connecting with students who face behavioral or academic challenges.

“We know what it feels like to search for the right support, and we know the difference it can make when you find it. We want to help create more of those moments for individuals and families in our community.”

A Mission Lived, Not Just Chosen

For the Coopers, the mission of Special Strong is rooted in direct family experience. At the beginning of this year, Robyn faced an unexpected health challenge following surgery that required her to relearn how to walk. Their daughter, Quinn, has her own unique needs and benefits from an IEP, individualized educational support, and ongoing physical and occupational therapy. As a family, the Coopers have experienced firsthand what it means to adapt, advocate, celebrate small victories, and redefine what progress looks like.

“Progress rarely looks the same for two people,” the Coopers said. “What matters is having people who recognize the individual rather than the challenge and are willing to meet them where they are.”

Their confidence in the business was reinforced through conversations with Special Strong’s leadership team and existing franchisees, which confirmed that their combined backgrounds — healthcare, education, and lived family experience — aligned directly with what the model requires: developing relationships, building community partnerships, leading people well, and earning trust.

Special Strong Mobile Bay serves the greater Mobile Bay, Alabama region.
