Special Strong Appoints Craig Bohall as Vice President of Franchise Development, Strengthening Its Mission to Expand Adaptive Fitness Nationwide

McKinney, TX — December 2024 — Special Strong, the leading adaptive fitness franchise serving individuals with special needs and disabilities, proudly announces the appointment of Craig Bohall as its new Vice President of Franchise Development. Bohall brings over two decades of experience in customer success, which he leverages to guide people toward becoming successful franchise owners.

Bohall’s journey with Special Strong began in a deeply personal way. A few years ago, he and his wife discovered Special Strong through a LinkedIn post. Intrigued, the Bohalls enrolled their children, two of whom have special needs, into the program.

“We noticed immediately that this was about more than just physical fitness,” Bohall recalls. “Daniel Stein’s approach focused on physical strength but more importantly, neurological development and confidence-building. My daughter gained so much more than fitness; she gained confidence that’s helped her succeed in her job. This was helping her have a more abundant life.”

In his new role, Bohall will leverage his customer success background to manage the company’s high volume of franchise inquiries. His primary responsibility will be identifying and guiding qualified franchise prospects through a comprehensive six-stage onboarding process.

Bohall explains. “It’s not about selling a franchise. It’s about finding people who are passionate about helping others live more abundant lives through adaptive fitness. My joy comes from helping people define and achieve success, so they can in turn help others succeed.

Daniel Stein, CEO and Founder of Special Strong, emphasizes the cultural fit Bohall brings to the organization. “I knew Craig before we hired him. The one thing that always stood out was how much he cared for people. Within 90 days, his expertise in building relationships and leading people led me to promote him to VP of Franchise Development. His 25 years of hospitality and customer success molded him into something: he truly cares and loves people. In our culture, we call that being relationship-focused.”

Bohall’s leadership marks a significant step in Special Strong’s expansion efforts. As demand for adaptive fitness services continues to rise, Bohall’s mission is to ensure that every city with a need for Special Strong’s services has access to a local franchise.

“I speak to around two hundred potential franchisees every month, and one thing is clear: the need for adaptive fitness solutions is massive, yet the supply is almost nonexistent. We’re changing that,” says Bohall.

Special Strong’s adaptive fitness model serves a wide range of clients, including individuals with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, veterans, and stroke survivors. Its programs are designed to improve both physical strength and cognitive function, offering tailored solutions to each client’s unique needs.

This personalized approach resonated deeply with Bohall, who notes that Special Strong’s mission aligns perfectly with his values. “My two children have a more abundant life because of Special Strong. I want to help tens of thousands of other parents feel the same way,”  he states.

As Vice President of Franchise Development, Bohall aims to further Special Strong’s national footprint while maintaining its commitment to compassionate, client-centered service.
