Cheshire, CT – September 1, 2025 – Special Strong proudly announces the launch of its newest franchise in the Central Connecticut Valley Region, led by franchise owner Lissa Merchant. A mother of four and lifelong advocate of faith, service, and health, Lissa is bringing her passion for empowering individuals with special needs to her community through adaptive and inclusive fitness programs.
After homeschooling her children into adulthood, Lissa felt called to a new purpose—one that would unite her love for fitness with her heart for service. When she discovered Special Strong, she knew it was the perfect way to combine her values with a mission that changes lives. Now, as the owner of Special Strong Central Connecticut Valley, she is ready to help individuals of all abilities build strength, confidence, and independence.
