MILWAUKEE, WI — Special Strong, a leading Adaptive Fitness franchise dedicated to serving individuals with mental, physical, and cognitive challenges, today announced the launch of Special Strong Milwaukee North Shore under franchise owner Tim Mitchell — marking the brand’s first location in the state of Wisconsin. The location will celebrate its grand opening on October 17, 2026.
Mitchell recently completed his ISSA certification to become a personal trainer, adding a professional credential to a lifetime already built around fitness and mentorship. A lifelong fitness advocate, youth sports coach, and mentor through organizations like Scouting America, Mitchell also spent 10 years as a stay-at-home father, raising three children who have each gone on to earn two college degrees.

Mitchell’s own commitment to fitness runs deep: his training history includes four full marathons, four half marathons, a triathlon, and 15 years of playing rugby. That combination of personal discipline and a passion for coaching others made Special Strong’s mission an easy fit.
Bringing Special Strong to Wisconsin
“Special Strong has a beautiful mission, a clear vision, and the dedicated staff to assist all of its owners in fulfilling their mission and vision,” Mitchell said. “Because of Special Strong’s dedication to help others live an abundant life, I have chosen to open the first chapter here in Wisconsin.”
Special Strong Milwaukee North Shore will bring certified, individualized adaptive fitness training to the greater Milwaukee area, with Mitchell drawing on decades of coaching, mentorship, and hands-on fitness experience to guide athletes of all abilities toward their goals.
