Milwaukee, WI – October 12, 2026 – Special Strong, a specialty fitness provider serving individuals with mental, physical, and cognitive challenges, is proud to announce the opening of Special Strong Milwaukee North Shore, owned and operated by Tim Mitchell. A family-friendly grand opening celebration will be held on October 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at 1st and Bowl, 2969 N 114th Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
Tim Mitchell is a certified personal trainer and lifelong fitness advocate with a background in youth coaching and community mentorship, including years of service with Scouting America. He spent a decade as a stay-at-home father raising three children, each of whom has gone on to earn two college degrees. His personal commitment to fitness includes four full marathons, four half-marathons, a triathlon, and 15 years of competitive rugby. For Tim, Special Strong represents the convergence of two things that have defined much of his life: a passion for fitness and a calling to help others reach their potential.
“Special Strong has a beautiful mission and a clear vision,” said Tim. “The dedication to helping others live a more abundant life is what drew me here. This felt like a calling, and I am proud to bring it to Milwaukee’s North Shore.”
Special Strong was founded in 2016 by Daniel Stein, who began specializing in health and fitness for people with special needs after being diagnosed with a learning disability, mood disorder, and autoimmune disease. The company provides adaptive and inclusive fitness programs to individuals around the world with mental, physical, and cognitive challenges, including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, rare genetic conditions, and more.
