How It Works

At Special Strong, we look for our prospective franchisees to have $150,000+ net worth and liquid capital of at least $25,000. Typical financing often comes through non-traditional lending institutions, local lenders, and possibly even family or friends as investors.

Home-Based Franchise Model

Our home-based franchise model requires a lower investment due to not having to buy a location or gym equipment. Estimated start-up costs for U.S. locations range from $51,000 – $60,700* and include but are not limited to the franchise fee, grand opening, and working capital.

  • Train clients at affiliate gym locations or in-home
  • Low fees and overhead costs
  • Own multiple territories
  • Recurring subscription revenue model
  • No real estate purchases required
  • Limited competition

Brick-and-Mortar Franchise Model

Our brick-and-mortar franchise model estimated start-up costs for U.S. locations will be determined after we build our first brick-and-mortar. Start-up costs will include but are not limited to the franchise fee, equipment, location build-out, furnishings, and working capital. Our brick-and-mortar franchise model is a 3,000-4,000 square foot adaptive and inclusive fitness facility whose key elements will include the following:

  • Sensory room
  • Adaptive equipment
  • Recovery lounge for parents and caregivers
  • ADA accessible restrooms
  • Functional training area

Franchises for our brick-and-mortar model are currently not available. We are planning to open our first brick and mortar in 2023 in Texas.

Royalty Structure

The royalty structure was developed to encourage the individual franchises to be successful. With a de-escalating royalty structure, the more yearly revenue (annualized monthly), the less royalties are paid. The minimum monthly royalty is $250/month. Current royalty percentages are as follows:

  • 8.0% – Up to $10,000
  • 7.5% – $10,001-$15,0000
  • 7.0% – $15,001+

  • We do not derive any revenue from franchisee purchases or leases.
  • The prices we get from our vendors are the same prices our franchisees pay. We don't mark up costs or participate in vendor rebates.
  • Once your business opens, royalty fees are waived for the first three months of operation.
  • Once you obtain the revenue threshold amount for a lower royalty fee tier, your royalty fee rate will not increase above that rate for the remainder of the applicable calendar year.
